Q-tips® Precision Tips (and a Toddler)

One of the greatest joys of having a daughter is being able to do girlie things. Now Baby Girl is not one to wear pretty little things in her cute curly hair. Probably a jinx from when I went on a rant about people putting large head size flowers on their newborns. :( However, she loves to have her nails done! In Target she can spot bottle of nail polish from way down the isle and start her little chant, "Mommy! Oh Mommy! Show me!"

Now I may be an artist, but the nail department of art I fail at sadly. But it looks like Baby Girl has me covered. :)

 Here she prepares to paint my nails by taking out all the Q-tips® Precision Tips. She needs a lot for her masterpiece! We also have the gorgeous green color which is one of her favorites.

And the beautiful finished piece of art! The splatter paint look is really popular you know! She also used the q-tips to apply generous amounts of polish around my cuticles. I mean and who else sports nail polish on their knuckles and cuticles? The kid is a little Da Vinci!

I am more of the boring traditional nail artist. But I do say the new Q-tip shape is pretty nifty for clean up jobs around the nails. And for a little girl who loves to get her nails done, it does a bang up job cleaning up her toes :)

Spending my days

Now I am no parental expert. My kids are 2 years and 6 months. But from the little time I have been parent, I have learned a lot.

One is women do a whole lot more and a whole lot less at the same time. What that mean is, I went from doing 10 art project, work, being a wife, and student in one day, to spending my entire day sitting with my daughter coloring pictures and keeping her from throwing things at her brother. That may seem like I do nothing all day, but those little thing entitle em to teach my daughter her colors, have the chance to teach her name and her words, teach her to treat her brother lovingly, to give hugs and kisses, to share her crayons, don't draw on the wall, don't draw on the floor and most definatley do not draw on yourself....nor your brother.

Between diaper changes and feeding, I have to wrestle her, because she wants to go comando. And then chase her away because she wants to back to nursing when she sees her brother chowing down. With Theo still little enough to nurse it is easy to keep him in the swing, but guess what he now is learning to sit up, so it more floor time, than swing time now.

My back aches because I sit and lay on the floor more than I stand, my meals consist of what my daughter eats, grant it she's a vegghead, but still would like a eat a meal without little hand eating off my plate. 

So yes, I may only be doodling on the floor with my children, but those are my busiest days, but also my most enjoyable!

Flowers and parties

I much to update, however, so little time as of right now, but I thought I would share a picture of some flowers I have been making and share contest from some special party planners and decor enthusiasts I get lots of inspiration from.  I am sure sometime posts back a year or two I posted a picture of one I made before, but no harm in showing them again.
Now after making them for awhile, I have my own pattern I follow, along with the step once the glue is dried I poke a small hole through the center to have a pretty bead or fresh water pearl in the center.

I love making these because the seem like the perfect last minute gift or special touch to a present. But also look great making on and leaving in mason jar to put on display.

This music note one with a tan fresh water pearl in the center is for one of my grandmother's upcoming birthday present along with some chocolates.
I have also been contemplating about making a few for my close friend who is getting married the next few weeks.

Anyways, I also thought I would share this contest I entered. I usually don't post or share things like this, but these people are special. What Shoes Say.

Shoes. We all wear them. They are the ground beneath our feet. The foundation which we stand on. And for women we have a strange fascination for them some more than others.
Even I would consider myself one of the women who loves shoes. I see a shoe sale and I get giddy with excitement! Sadly, my sense of never-wasting-money-of-things-I-don't-need kicks in more often than I want it too and I don't get many shoes. And after many years of this,  I only have about around 6 pairs of shoes not including my mismatched slippers and snow boots.


My purple Converse. These say, I am awesome to sport purple, casual enough for everyday use, and I got them for 3 bucks at Goodwill never used before! 

 These purple ruffled, 2 inch wedge heal  that were technically my first set of heels bigger than 1 inch! Even after two kids, I feet are still size 8! And I am still proud of these shoes and I think they look sexy! They say, "I am confident sexy lady!"...Hubby man would say otherwise, but what do men know about shoes?

 Yes, those are sparkles and yes those are sequins! But in the basic color brown so they should match anything I wear!

 My second pair of heels and my newest pair of shoes! And I actually paid full price of 25 bucks at Payless. I even had the good excuse of I needed them because I was bridesmaid without any shoes that matched my dress. As you can see still a wedge because I can't walk in actual heels. These are probably the most sensible pair of shoes I have in basic color besides the sparkle tennys above.

 And my go too shoes, besides my bare feet. My running shoes with neon green laces and purple accents. (Can you see the purple trend here?) These babies caarry me everywhere. From my morning run to my grocery shopping to Sunday morning church, you will see these shoes on my feet. These replaced my orange and grey Nikes I loved and had so long. (And these are probably the only pair I spent more than 30 bucks on.)

 And my last pair I have only worn a few times, my hiking boots! My Aunt gave these to me and I love them to much to get rid of them because I actually use them when I go on hikes! And they are pink! What more can be said!

Okay so my shoe collection leaves much to be desired, but they protect my feet and do the job. I still need to pair of sandals, because sad to say my sandals usually only last me a month before they are decimated.

Basically I am cheap! I can't bare to spend 20 bucks on a pair of shoes I will probably only wear 5 times in a whole year. I stare longing at those awesome boots that would look great with leggings or those jeweled sandals that would be awesome with a sundress, but in the end price wins over style. :(

Maybe though now looking at pitiful shoe collection, I can maybe muster up enough will power to lay the cash down and buy a pair of shoes just for the heck of it!....

Anyways off to Wal-mart to buy a pair of 99 cent flip-flops!

March-ed on into April

Well March went by real fast. It was kinda unfair. Easter strolled on in and was gone before I knew it. Which is fine, because I enjoy the benefits of Easter afterwards, *munching on clearance caramel Cadberry eggs*

But here is a picture of the egg chicks I made. I was inspired from pictures from Pinterest. They were too cute!

Hehe. The eyes were a little cuts of jalapenos. *evil grin*

And for the most part of March I was running around hekping friends plan weddings, messy Easter plans, and planning Baby Girl's 2ed birthday! Woohoo!!! After comtemptating for many hours of what theme and watching endless hour of Snowwhite and she carrying around Snowhwite doll and kissing the Prince Charming doll I have come to the conclusion!...We are throwing a Finding Nemo Party! Just kidding, we are doing SnowWhite, here is a sneak peak at what I am making so far.

Anyways, not much more to update here. Our microwave busted, our neighbors moved out. We think a new one moved in. We sometimes see a car. Once in awhile hear a voice. We assume he's a secret agent and doesn't stick around much, because he is on top secret missions.

She found a Passover plate and wore McDonalds hat, so we are assuming her dream is to serve Kosher fastfood when she grows up. :P

Scents Sense

Lets see a raise of hands of who likes to smell good? *survey the crowd* I am pretty sure that was everyone. And pretty much all the ladies, I am sure.

There is just something in a woman that overtakes us when something stinky come within 20 feet. We whip out our perfume bottles! Even if we think "BO"  we slink off the the bathroom to reapply the little deodorant we keep in the secret pocket of our purses. (Heaven forbid another sees us and think we have some chronic smelly disorder!)

And let's just tap a little into soaps and shampoos we use. There is not one Bath and Body Works I have passed that was not packed full with women picking up bottles and cracking one open like beer and taking in its scent.

Seriously! As women we have an addiction to smell goodies! It's a drug! And what makes it worse, all the soap and shampoo scents are not longer just your simple "Spring Fresh" or "Rose", its expanded!!!

We now have scents like "Apple Cherry Vanilla Blossom" or "Rosewood Evergreen Citrus".

I mean, it used to be just be I would shower with "clean" scented body wash, now I smell like "Orange Morang." and why not top that off with " Morning Dew Fern Fresh" shampoo. Oh! And guess what I bought a new conditioner treatment, lets make my hair smell like "Sugar Cookie Cotton Candy Balls!"

And since I am enjoying the bath so much, like make it more romantic and add candles!

Let's see, I'll burn "Winter Snow Flake by the Fire" (Didn't know snow had a smell, but apparently it does!)

And when I am out I will burn another as I get ready for day, titled "Fall Leaves" Yes, Bath and Body Works has a candle that smells like fall's dried up leaves. The very leaves you are endlessly raking and you gripe about when your husband tracks them into the house. But hey! your house can at least smells like it! *sigh* By no means do I mean to sound negative about all the new smellies that have come out. I am one of those ladies who love scents and buy candles and use twice, before I buy another. I am an addict!

 

But I just gotta know, who was the person who woke up one morning and thought, "I want to smell like Chocolate Cake" Linke here!

 

My favorites are from the people who invented the soda and Twinkies scented AND flavored lip balms! Sheer genius! My personal favorite is Mt. Dew.

 

But hey, who is to judge? If you want to smell like an ice cream sundae, you can smell like an ice cream sundae. If what makes your day is to get a wiff of your house in cascades of "Cherry Berry Banana Glazed Bun Blossoms," then be my guest and burn that candle!

Valentines day at the PICNIC

Well just a little post for now. Our little mini man is in the hospital due too a very bad virus. No worries he is getting better. Prayers are always appreciated.


So we start our valentines day off the night before with pink sparkly cupcake:)


And then my minimal being a stud muffin and giving all his nurses a valentine:)


And PICNIC stands for the picu and the nicu patients because this poor hospital is so full of poor sucky babies with this bad virus:( no worries they are in good hands
