Babies! So cute! And the baby showers! Oh so sweet and exciting. A new mama, basking in pregnancy glow.
But one of the things I find hard about baby showers is getting a gift. Sure, you can run to their registered store and pick out a few items, but then you start to wonder. How many baby blankets does the new mama and baby going to get? And sure you can get a cute outfit but its hard to pick a size. You don't want to get the baby something that he could never wear because he already has a mountain of new born clothes. Nor do you want to get something that mama has to keep and store for 6 months to 2 years before he can wear it. So one of things I like giving is baby sock bouquets! Little baby socks rolled up to look like rose, add some fake leaves and you have it made.
I was a new mama once and going to be again at the end of December. The one thing I never had enough of was baby socks. And when I did, I always lost them. And when you are a new mama nursing a tini newborn, who has the time to wash baby socks? much less find and match them! So I liked to have an endless supply of them. So this baby shower gift is nifty, nice on the wallet, and helps a new mama to have an endless sock supply so she doesn't have to sock hunt! She will find them when she does. (Mine almost always where under my bed or in the fridge...don't ask....hormones!)
This one is done in pink, because I have a friend do in October. Hopefully she doesn't read this blog post. :) The socks are just rolled then ajusted a little, before I take tire rap a few time around the bottom for a stem.
I put mine in a mason jar and stuffed green and white sockes at the bottom. Add fake leaves, then place in a cute baby bag or give as is. You can a bow or other greenery if you desire.
You can even add little recieving blanket around the jar like a pretty wrapped pot. That would be cute. Have fun with it.
Anywhoalls, Until another day

Spring cleaning Summer Saving
Okidokie my peeps! It officially Spring as of Tuesday!!! Yippie! Spring! Warm weather! *does happy dance."
Its time to start the spring clean and summer savings! Over the next few weeks I hope to post a lot of ways for saving and cleaning for the warmer weather that is already here.
When it comes to spring and summer, it seems like our spending gets a little worse while our wallets seems to get a little smaller. So to combat our ever shrinking wallets, let start off with a little saving!
One goal I have in mind is for the electric. You probably hear it all the time, but turning off your air conditioning can save you money. And keeping it off can save you loads of money. So I have it set in my head I am keeping the air off until July. (Ha! Lets see if I can keep that way.)
Ways to keep cool though while the air is off is the tricky part. Besides keeping windows up and fans blowing in your window a few thing that can be done are...
1.) Change our your curtains for sheer ones. This not only can bring in lots of natural light into your house, but also allows more air to escape and flow.
2.) During the hottest part of the day, bowls of ice and water in front of the fans work almost as good as air conditioning. When you are done with the water, you can water your plants outside with it, so nothing is wasted. :)
3.) Trade out heavy comforters for lighter blanks. And the same for all the pillows. I am not saying replace all your pillows with thin ones, just maybe take the heavy pillows. I have no idea if this actually makes your house cooler, but it makes you feel cooler.
4.) Now this one is really up to you. I do this sometimes, because it does help somewhat, but not using your oven help to not put heat in the house. I actually like to do a day where I cook all my meals in one day and I freeze them. All I have to do is pull it out and pop it in the microwave for a few minutes.
5.) Same goes for your dryer. Keeping your dyer to limited use works as well. But I understand not liking that weird feel in your clothes after they have been air dried outside. :P
Anywhoalls!
this is just the beginning., I will keep you update with my goal of keeping my goal of keeping my air off until July. No worries I am not too crazy. It it gets hot enough the air will go on, but not until then!
Another few things to add, which I hope to start posting in every post is a deal of the week! Since it the end of the week, here is an awesome deal for you. Lots of coupons for Silk milk. I am going to use mine for their dark chocolate milk. One thing I love and my family loves is chocolate milk. Problem is it not that healthy. Now this Dark Chocolate Milk from Silk, still have it sugar, but a is a few calories less and has lots more vitamins than your normal sugar and calorie filled drink. It is also richer and fuller in taste then regular chocolate. Here is a couple links below
