Lisa Frank and my Childhood Dreams

Finally time to write!

It was five in the morning and for some reason I was thinking about wearing my large LisaFrank head phones out while I went for a jog. The jog never happened thanks too 10 degree weather, but I did wear my headphones this morning listening to my music while I tended to my children.

As I wore those brightly colored headphones, I watched my daughter bring out my old LisaFrank beanies I let her have and thought of the three big ones I let her sleep with. She sleeps with a large Casey and and tad smaller Violet and Velvet puppies. How much love across two generations have those beanies have received?
These are her favorite out our collection. Surprising Dotty is her favorite as she was mine. :)

I just love the fact I can still have one my childhood favorites still fill my home. I remember as an 8 year old little girl carrying her LisaFrank Binder and secretly keeping my beanies in my back pack. I was homeschooled, but every Thursday we had co-op, where a bunch of homeschool kids got together to do extra curricular activities. AT that time I suddenly had this great desire to be an artist. At 8 years old I wanted to learn to paint. Not just a little cheap art set or paint by number, I wanted the real deal. I wanted the smell oil paint, the brush to the canvas, type painting. Right before I turned 9, my mom had found a class specifically for kids and off I went on my journey to become an artist.

Just like LisaFrank's bright colors, I was the one always reaching my brush for the cerulean blue. I would mix bright pinks and use yellow right out the tube onto the canvas. At the end of class I came home with paint covering my arms and on my face, but I would hold my masterpiece with pride. As I grew older I learned to appreciate more natural colors. I settled my bright colors down a little, but even in all natural color painting, one bright color would always come shining through.

Who knew my 8 year old self would one day achieve her dream. I became an artist. With a little crazy and lot of love my best friend and I opened our little art gallery and gift shop called Created.
My little Created Art Gallery and Gift Shop in the local historical town. The green building used be a little cabin.
My home is filled with my art as well as LisaFrank. Lot of influence and inspiration as child came from my love of Lisa Frank. It helped mold me into the person I am today. I love the fact I am free to paint what I love and share it with some many people around me. I am so blessed to have little girl who loves bright colors and stuffed animals like I did as child and still do now. I love the fact I have been able to share my childhood toys.
This was random painting I did one day that hangs in my room.

This was a painting I did when I was in college. It now hangs in my daughter's room right above some lovely scribbles which I still need to wash off. :P

As years come I hope to keep filling my home with even more artwork as well as the homes of others who enjoy my art work. I hope others can find joy from their childhood as I have and be able to share it with their children.

I am running out of time. My son is taking a pencil to the wall *sigh*

Until another day

Blessings
