Failed caramel, now caramel chocolates!

Another day in the Zaricor household. I have been vlogging a little more and hopefully my blog and vlog can coinside with each other.
I go by Natacreatedartist on youtube and my channel name is nearlynaturalmama. Why I chose that title is pretty much the same reason I titled this blog the organic poptart. :P
Fact is , I am a mama on budget and I can;t afford for al my groceries to be organic nor can I grow this lushious organic garden, I live in an apartment and my back deck can only grow much. :)
But with what I can do, I try to be as natural as I possibley can. I would love to try clothe diapering, but I don't washer or dryer. And since organic diapers are so expensive, I stick with Huggies Pure and Natural. Not as great as clothe diapering, but she doesn;t react to them, made with organic cotten and has less chemicals than other diapers. :)
Also my family love caramels! Soft chewy caramel candy that you savor sucking on. When I checked out you can make it home for relatively much cheaper. I decided to try it out. Hey it would be great to do that instead of cookies for Christmasn this year.....SAdly...I made fancy caramel syrup instead.....
So now I have a 9x9 in pan of caramel syrup. Great for icecream and brownies, but also great to eaet faster and more desserts since there is enough to last a long time. :( I learning how to store it, just in case I make this mistake again. :(
I did find one way that works great.
In these cute chocolate casing, you fill your caramel then deposit them in your tummy to keep them safe.  :P

Anyways until another day

Vlogging and a quick craft!

I am now starting vlog! It would great if you guys checked it out. I thought I get in touch more if maybe you saw my face a litte more. I don;t know. Just tossing it out there. But! I am on my second day of vlogging so give it watch. No worries, no 10-15 minutes videos. Just a few minutes if you have time to spare. :)
Here's the link to my first video. :)

Anyways, today I was on pinterest searching for ideas to make gifts for my friend and I came upon this.
I thought, "What a great christmas present!" But of course, I jazzed it up. Hopefully, my friend whom I am giving this too doesn't see it or read this blog post. :P Here's my version.

I had fun making it. Any person who scrapbooks would see how easily its done. Even if you don't scrap book it still pretty nifty and quick to make. The best part isyou use a dry erase marker to leave a note on it for your loved one! My pictures below is really bad. I only had a dried out green one to test it out. Works great though .:)
Anyways. How I made mine was with a glue stick and ribbon and left over paper flowers I had.

T

The only thing I would say is to use ink to distress and antqiue the edges of your paper. It makes the entire piece look finished and character. :)
And here is the finished product! She is going to love it!

Anyways try it yourself. Its pretty easy.

Christmas in AUgust begins!

So we are having a baby boy! and he is due around Christmas! So now I will start my get Christmas done before Christmas before baby is here series! Reason for this is I thought I might share my expiernce and tips and ideas I am trying out. :)

First make tons of lists and the make more....then schedule a little than make more lists!
 My present stack so far!
I carry a little blue book around with me in my purse, that has basic ruled paper in it. Here I wrote and list of people I need to get Christmas presents for. Each week I buy or make and wrap one present for one person on my list.
On another list I have christmas cards I need to send to people. I made my Christmas cards this year so I  made 2-3 a week. I have them all done, just needing to be addressed and sent off! Hopefully this gets done by end of November. My goal is to have everything done  by beginning of December so I can focus solely on baby. :) Lets see if I can make it!

And here are some examples of the cards I have made. I have made about 15 from scrap book paper and stamps and flowers and ribbons
I also have decided to nix the cookies this year and make candy. Caramel and fudge are on the list. I have not made those yet, but I need to make a test run batch. I am talking about soft chewy caramels and yummy fudge!!!  I'll post on my adventure making those. If I fail, just for those who are getting cookies, aka: the mail amn, Hubby's co-workers,ect etc. Just know you will then get store bought cookies arranged in tins to look like homemake cookies.....
Anyways, make more lists after this. Ingrediants need to be written down, and events need to listed then put on the calender. Find out anything as early as possible, because you will not have time find it or do it later when it comes near. I am still wondering if I should do Journey to Bethelham reanactment some local churchs do. Hopefully if it not too cold or I am not too big! EEP! October is Apple Butter Festival! and November is a CHristmas parade in the near  by town. That all I got planned so far. I keep you up to date.
Love you all and write that thought you just came up with down. You'll forget  it in 5...4..3..2..1....What were we talking about?
Oh yeah, until another day

Zaricor Family week, between the chasing a baby and cleaning. :)

SO from Thursday of last week. I had my friends over for the first time to watch Mirror Mirror. Which for those who have not watched it you really need to. Its super cute! We had Papa Johns Pizza, greatly discounted thanks to Daddi! A tasty potato casserole from the lovely friend who came, and I made this.

I know. Makes your mouth water. Oreo crust on the bottom, mint chocolate chip ice cream filling in the middle, then homemade whipped chocolate icing on top. Very tasty!
But before I finished it. It made this mess.....

Um...yeah...Left to go check on Baby Girl because she plunking her toys once again into the toilet, even though I swear I keep that bathroom door closed and the toilet seat shut! So I left my mixer on high speed for a few seconds untended...But we got this lovely ring of chocolate icing splatterd across my kitchen floor, microwave, and ipad! NExt day...
Friday got our tires alined and because I forgot my daughter's shoes I had to keep her in a chair and off the floor. Here she is playing with my ipad so walking doesn't seem so interesting.
Saturday we spent the lovely day with Hubby-Man's Grandparents and Uncle and Aunt. And then SUnday rolled around. Hubby went to work, Baby girl spent the afternoon with my parents being spoiled. And I spent my afternoon feeling like this....
Only with a rounder belly and four other women doing this as well. Prenatal yoga class is actually quite relaxing, but sometimes I feel we get carried away...LOL
Monday I spent making more of these before I went to visit my grandparents.

Baby bow barrettes and also doing half finished painting
And then Tuesday, yesterday, we spent the morning at the doctor looking at this.
Weird angle shot of him or her. Kinda moving around bit by bit. No gender yet, but on 15th we find out! Yippie..hopefully......

So yep. That s been our week so far. Today we plan on making funnel cake!Hopefully that works out less messy than the ice cream cake. :)

Until another day

Baby sock bouquet!

Babies! So cute! And the baby showers! Oh so sweet and exciting. A new mama, basking in pregnancy glow.
But one of the things I find hard about baby showers is getting a gift. Sure, you can run to their registered store and pick out a few items, but then you start to wonder. How many baby blankets does the new mama and baby going to get? And sure you can get a cute outfit but its hard to pick a size. You don't want to get the baby something that he could never wear because he already has a mountain of new born clothes. Nor do you want to get something that mama has to keep and store for 6 months to 2 years before he can wear it. So one of things I like giving is baby sock bouquets! Little baby socks rolled up to look like rose, add some fake leaves and you have it made.
I was a new mama once and going to be again at the end of December. The one thing I never had enough of was baby socks. And when I did, I always lost them. And when you are a new mama nursing a tini newborn, who has the time to wash baby socks? much less find and match them! So I liked to have an endless supply of them. So this baby shower gift is nifty, nice on the wallet, and helps a new mama to have an endless sock supply so she doesn't have to sock hunt! She will find them when she does. (Mine almost always where under my bed or in the fridge...don't ask....hormones!)
This one is done in pink, because I have a friend do in October. Hopefully she doesn't read this blog post. :) The socks are just rolled then ajusted a little, before I take tire rap a few time around the bottom for a stem.

I put mine in a mason jar and stuffed green and white sockes at the bottom. Add fake leaves, then place in a cute baby bag or give as is. You can a bow or other greenery if you desire.
You can even add little recieving blanket around the jar like a pretty wrapped pot. That would be cute. Have fun with it.
Anywhoalls, Until another day
