Lace Pins

o
As from the title above right under my header "The Organic Pop-Tart" I told I am an artist. Right before I told I am dysfunctional one, which is why you have not seen much of my art or anything I create for the matter...It just never came to mind until..well just a few minutes before I started writing this post. So I decided to show one of the things I have been working on. Usually I am a painter. Oil painting mainly, but I have been working a lot late with baby and all. But once my oil painting class, I am teaching, I will post you some pictures! :D
Anywhoalls, I came up with these today, because one I like to make new things, and two I had spool of lace I had to come up with something to do, so this was my idea! Lace pins and barrettes. They are really cute I think. This falls right under my list of "Pretty things." Who doesn't think lace and beads and glitter are not pretty? What do you all think? The Pictures are really bad, cause...*shameful face* I still can not find my SD card or my camera so I had to make do with me Computer camera which is kinda grainy, but they still look pretty good.

Just a little post today!

Toodles!

Also excuse my terrible hair. Its really late when I wrote this and I had a whole day worn on me. :P

The Potato Bowl!

There is just something about cute odd things that bring a little surprise to your home. I love surprises in people's homes. Like when you go into someone's bathroom and you see a cute basket with handmade soaps and pretty perfumes, or a book of fairytale in the family room open for you to pick up and read, or when the silverware doesn't match (probably like me we collect forks and spoons instead of buying a new sets...) or a letter on the red microwave, etc But here is a new thing to add to your home if you can find them. While my friend was setting up new items in her shop in a little Antique town close by here, I noticed these really cute bowls. I fell in love them! I mean whoever came up with them was a genius!

Can't you tell by the pictures how cool they are? ...*crickets*...Its a a potato bowl! A bowl shaped like a potato! So you can eat your potato soup out of a potato! Isn't it cute!? They are just so cute. I love them. They are made from artist with the initials MB, but whoever made them was pure genius. You can eat your potato soup in a potato! AND! It comes with it own spoon! ...*crickets*...Okay maybe some people were not as excited as I was. I fell completely in love with them and I know plenty who would love the idea of eating potato soup out of ceramic potato. My friend only had 5 sets of 2 and I got four of them, but she might still have them at her shop Remember When, but I am not sure. And if anyone knows who the artist who made them, that would be cool to know too.

As you can also see by the photo the edge of my laptop. I lost my camera and SD card. :( *tear* But my laptop camera can take pretty good photos if I have enough light.

Anywhoalls, just a quick post today.

10 ThingsI learned after pregnancy

Its been just few days after I hit my two month mark from the day I gave birth to my bundle of joy Strawberry. Yes, 2 wonderful months that so far has made me and expert in motherhood! (Ha! I wish!) However, though still a new mommy and far from knowing everything, I have learned a lot of things that I never thought of, took little consideration, and stuff that I pretty much ignored cause I thought I knew better and knew it all. (Hehehe, was I so wrong and paid for it.)
So these are the top ten things I learned after pregnancy.

1.) My baby getting a shot is so much worse than my own labor pains! Its so sad and and true! There I was holding my sleeping baby girl, cuddled warmly against me in a diaper waiting for the doctor. Totally unaware of the pain to come and it my fault!!! It may be for her good, but it still feel horrible to watch them cry like that.

2.) Life is really a musical for a baby. Who knows how many times I break out in song singing about changing her diaper, getting clean, puking on momi, and napping with daddy. "Getting our diaty changed, Yes we are." Is so far her favorite cause she smiles whil I change a diaper...or it could be she is smiling to avoid me singing something worse!

3.) Bananas have become my best friend. I eat them, I buy them, I make banana bread, muffins and pudding, and I pretty much can't live without them. I am not sure why, its just so.

4.) Baby coos are better than any orchestra or master musician. I mean seriously, how can Yo-Yo-Ma match her little squeaks! Beethoven can not her little voice no matter what people tell me! My little girl and future babies to come sound way cuter and masterful than a whole symphony!

5.) I watch and keep track of diapers more than I do the bills. Oh yes, this one never seem to go away. Just the other day I had the doctor laughing at me because I was worried about her diapers and when I get home I am greeted with a mailbox with a letter telling me late on a bill, which I paid, but just send payment late! *sigh* Do you ever get your brain back after babies?Maybe that is why I am choosing to home school.

6.) After birth I learned, my husband lost like ten pounds and I had about 20 to lose!!! ARGH!!! Is that fair? I mean sure the weight gain was so worth the baby, but seriously!?! Who gave the man permission to lose weight while I look like melon!?!?!

7.)Nesting doesn't stop or doesn't get done and . Sadly, I thought it would, because I would get back to normal with a baby in the routine. No, dishes are never clean enough to use or never get done. Laundry has to be done exactly right or is left to be a mountain and food either is 5 star worth or nothing! I think I still might have hormones...

8.) Naps are worth so much more than gold!!! I liked and took naps before I got pregnant, before I even met my husband, but it wasn't until after the baby I realized their value! Believe me my friend, cherish your few naps!

9.) Its is totally okidokie to take my child to the zoo! I know I know, she may not know the difference between a bear pit and her own backyard, but it makes me happy and the zoo if free.

10.) My phone is my life line!! With it little built in calender and address book it pretty much runs mu social life at this point. And through the magic voices of the outside world, called friends and family, I am kept up to date! Also has an alarm built into it to wake up and and go off when I need to be somewhere! By then though I should already be out the door and on my way someplace, but hey at least I am trying!

So anywhoalls, I learned a lot more than just these ten things, but these where the ones that stood out the most. Crazy but this my life so far! Love you all!

God bless!

Flowers for yourself

There is nothing better than a day out with my little Strawberry and my good friend. Maybe if it wasn't a bajillion degrees outside it would have been better, but you take what you can get when its summer in here. As our day came to an end, we were in wal-mart, (okay so the day was long gone! It was actually like 1 in morning, but just pretend you see my day ending with a wonderful sunset and cup of tea or something. And wal-mart is not all that romantic, but it a great.)Anywhoalls, our day was coming to an end and we walked by the flower stand as wal-mart and I manged to talk my friend into buying a bouquet of I-think-are-daisy's- but-look-close-enough flowers for herself.

This is a strange habit I having doing, buying myself flowers and telling my friends to buy themselves flowers. No, I am not some sick-romantic (yes, I am) that I am so deprived of flowers that I need to buy them. I just enjoy the fresh scent and look of flowers in my home. For some reason, in my eyes, it just makes things come alive in away. You have a boring old coffee table, bam! A vase and lilies later, that table is gorgeous. An empty window sill? No problem a small old jar and a few dandelions later you have a pretty thing to look as as the sun rays dance in the water of the jar. Can you tell ya I have done that before?

Flowers just make somethings or anything special. Just one of those small things that bring a little joy and a smile to my face an my family when I bring home a small $5 bouquet from wal-mart or maybe a rose I thought of saving from the those stinky gas stations. Or force even forcing my hubby to pull over cause I can't help but pull out my scissors or a pocket knife and start cutting away and making myself of bouquet from those wild flowers on the side of highway. (Those poor people in their cars must think I am crazy)
Anywhoalls, go and enjoy the summer blooms and bring yourself home a flower to enjoy

Oh yes and the pictures are of some of the flowers my friend shared with me and some from my Black Hair Papaw house. ( Yes, I really do call my grandpa, Black Hair Papaw.)
