Moby Wrap of Death!

Freedom! The sweet taste of freedom!

Yes! This weekend was our first weekend out with baby! The apartment prison cannot contain me. My cabin fever has been cured!
It was wonderful! This weekend started out with a trip to Target! Target! Oh sweet Target! It has been to long! Upon arrival through those automatic red doors, I stepped into the store of where it all started! (Not sure what all started there. But Target is just a really cool store.)

I waltzed right in with my baby girl snuggly secured to the front of my torso, by the really cool Moby Wrap, acting like I had done this many times before, saying ‘thank you’ to all who gawked at my tiny precious bundle of joy. And what made it really awesome was that everyone was totally unaware that it took me about 2 hours before hand to figure out that stink’n Moby Wrap.

Yes, I admit my shame…*hands head* From not listening to wise advise from others, I decided to put off learning how to tie the Moby Wrap, until last minute, right before I am suppose to use it.

I am sure many of you know what the Moby Wrap is, but for those who are dysfunctional and ‘slightly’ smart, like me, the Moby Wrap is a wrap you wear around your torso and have your baby sit or lay down in it. (Or in my case, baby was so small she was swimming in it!) Anywhoalls, unlike a baby carrier you strap on, the Moby Wrap is basically a really long strip of clothe you wrap and tie around yourself and make this funky pocket thingy that your baby sits in…(Hopefully you all can understand funky pocket.)
So there I was with this long….SUPER, long piece of cloth and somehow I am needed to wrap it around me and be secure enough to hold my baby. Simple enough!

…War broke out….

In an instant I was entangled in a web raging black cloth! One end had a hold on me, I had a hold on the other end. Back and forth, to the floor, standing up, twirling around, back to the floor! Quickly I free myself from it, throwing it across the room. (No! I was not throwing temper tantrum…Maybe I was. That thing was evil!) The cloth came back at me, tentacles of raving mad as they wrapped themselves around me. Back to the floor, rolling around; back to my feet; for awhile sporting a turban; tackling the evil wrap; then back to my feet only to be drug down again. FINALLY, after the long struggle, I came out victorious! I had that thing tied around me and I was ready to put baby in it to try a test run! And blessedly, my daughter was napping away and didn’t see her mother waltz with a phantom cloth. I think she would be scared to death and never would use it.

So now! Yes, now I have my baby girl strapped to me. I am ready! I can so do this. All I have to do is take her out for the carseat, wear the Moby Wrap, then put her back in it when we got to Target….*sad face*
Sadly and evilly plotted by the Moby Wrap, my little girl started fussing because she was hungry! Curse you evil Moby Wrap!

Anywhoalls, that is my adventure with my Moby Wrap. Now instead of war, we casually have a dance before we go anywhere.

So I guess I will see you all and God bless

Sleep, pictures, facebook hacking, and something I forgot.

This post will be fairly random, since I had an idea of what to put up today and lost my idea. I was in Wal-Mart for like 25 minutes trying to grocery shop rush, because baby and hubby were back at home and I was trying to get back before baby woke up. The idea was so awesome, very clever, I just thought it would be perfect to post it up for today, but I forgot, so this is what you get.
A sleep deprived woman, left alone with a camera and a computer and a napping baby. So this is what I give you. A random post about about nothing, just me simply typing about pretty much nothing.
I got up at 6 this morning, been awake ever since, running on......maybe 5 hours of sleep. I think I might be stretching there. I ate a piece of dark chocolate after feeding baby and putting her back to sleep, then laid back down staring at my ceiling, until my husband got up to check his email. Usually I would have something made for him or at least something to tell him of what to eat for breakfast...or I at least try too...But today I epically failed again...for the forth time this week. At least I have good intentions to make breakfast! I buy the stuff to make breakfast! My freezer is stacked with breakfast sausage and a huge package of beacon! My problem is it in the freezer...frozen! And for some reason the whole concept of actually taking out something for breakfast and putting it in the fridge the night before, just doesn't cross my mind ever! I think my brain lost that part of itself. The part where all common sense and logic meet. I have logic and common sense. I put raw meat in freezer. That is logical. I know to put things in the fridge to dethaw over night. That is common sense or knowledge at least, but for some reason these two concepts never meet in my head, but blessedly some how, my hubby gets fed.
However, I can proudly say, my hubby gets lunch and dinner! (Just at odd times because of his work schedule. Gotta love the random work schedule.)
So anywhoalls, after the whole breakfast thing, we pretty much spent the time we had before he had to leave for work, watching and playing with baby, then we facebook hacked each other. I must admit, I am really good at this. Even if I don't know his facebook password, he still has facebook on his phone.
And so far this is pretty much my day...I really need to take a nap. I think I am losing more my poor brain from sleep depravity! Anywhoalls, here a picture of my bananas on my stove.
Talk to you all later.

Oh yes. I forgot to meantion, I will posting recipes now and then, along with a recipe for homemade pop-tarts! And my famous chocolate cupcakes and homemade chocolate icing!

Baby Feet and Baby Bees

I am back again, to talk and rave about Burt’s Bees Baby Bee products again. Only this time its not there lotion, but a special something I got from my aunt. After a wonderful afternoon with a friend, I come to my front door to find a package from my aunt and uncle from the state above. And like a little girl, I squeeled and ran inside, made sure my daughter was safely napping in her moses basket, I leapt at the box, that was of course meant for her. (Even though she wears the clothes and has the stuff used on her, it still Christmas for me!)
Carefully opening the box, more like demolished it, I gasped and ‘aww’ed over everything. The pink floral oneies, with the matching hats and pants, and the pa-pas! So cute! Then my hands came upon the one little package that I have just enjoyed for the last two days.
…drum roll….
My Burts Bees Baby Bee Starter Kit! It is so awesome! It has tiny bottle sized of everything! You can see everything in the picture above. It came with Lotion, not their calming lotion, but the buttermilk lotion, which smells just as good and like to use on my hands! (I know, meant for baby, but I can’t help it! It feels so nice and makes soft hands! And no parabens!!!)
Anywhoalls, it also came with a buttermilk soap bar; diaper cream, which I want to try when she gets her next rash; a little package of baby powder; the other package is buttermilk bath powder to sooth skin, then a shampoo and bottle wash combo.. Oh by the way California Baby Shampoo and Bodywash, it works awesome! She smells great and it gave me soft hands! Anyways, the last thing is the Apricot Baby Oil, which at first I didn’t know what it was used for, until it was pointed out to me that you use like a very thin lotion when your baby has dry skin. Low and behold, my baby girl had flaky dry skin of late on her feet and hands. I guess cause she is growing. So tried some on one foot, and I was amazed by the instant results! Her poor flaky toes where back to normal!
I took pictures for you all to see. In one picture her one foot has oil and the other, on the bottom, hopefully you can see the difference. Two photo of her right foot are of her dry skin, then the last one is of her right foot after we applied the oil on it. Of course, she was napping and really didn’t care what we were doing to her feet, but it sure made me feel better that her feet wouldn't be itching no more! And what is even better, it only takes a little dab on my fingers to cover her legs, so the tiny bottle will last a lot longer than it looks like it would.

Anywhoalls, talk to ya all another day!

Prison SAVE ME!!!!

Confined!!! Confinement!
I have a severe case of cabin fever! It has been 12 days since I and little precious baby have been imprisoned in our tiny apartment! Tiny apartment prison!!!! I feel the walls caving in! Slowly the ceiling is moving down!!! I am losing my mind in these walls! *passes out*
…okay maybe I am little dramatic…BUT just a little….
Anywhoalls, yes I do feel slightly confined. I have yet to be able to leave my apartment to go to anyplace other than someone else house…*Hears Target calling* Not that I don’t mind all this time at home and with baby. I want all the time with baby, I just want to take baby to all the places I usually go! *fellowship talk from church family*
I really miss church on Sunday morning. Waking up my hubby with a “Jeronamo Hug” and then battling to my closet to get something nice to wear. (Me and hubby share a closet and believe or not, hubby takes up most of the closet!)*groceries screaming from Wal-mart and Schnucks*
I also miss just be able to head out and go to Goodwill or Target*Goodwill announcing new used arrivals* and just being able to go through a drive through!
*Hears people putting out yard sale signs for Saterday morning* AND THE GARAGE SALES!!! Do you know all the cool things you can find for a baby at garage sale? Not just some unique baby clothes and shoes from 1800’s, but strollers and a playpen! And then just some cool stuff for her to use when she is older, like music boxes, and chimes to hang outside her window! (Yes, that part may be what I liked as a child or what I want her to like, but I am mom, so she has to do it!) *hangs chime outside baby’s window.* Sigh! Oh well! Just a little randomness from the Organic Pop-Tart! *Hears the zoo animals and museum doors open for summer* *the Muny singer at Practice* *car on its way to Indiana!* AGH! Noises go away! I will get to you very soon!...*sits back down to work on escape plan*

Anywhoalls, Love ya all and God bless

epically failed video post!

I know no one will probably find this appealing. But I had to try a video sometime. No worries. I got cleaned up afterwards. I was just in the middle of about to make the video update when our little Strawberry D decided to bring a little drama and her diva self to life right as I was about video.
So enjoy or say yuck!

Pete the Timer

So as I begin my journies through motherhood, I knew it would be a huge change for me. I didn’t know what exactly would change, other than having a little person to care for 24/7, but I knew there would be big change. Now a couple days of into mominess, I have found there is a whole lot of change! And the one thing that has changed is time…In the beginning I was usually a pretty good self timer. I would go to bed about 10:30 -11 o’clock, wake up about 7 or 8 and start my day right off the bat! Since I took my shower at night, I would then just brush my hair, do my basic natural make-up, get dressed and the head upstairs to get ready for school. For the most part, I knew my class schedule by heart and would be able to get homework done in less than an hour after class was done. I pretty much ran on this internal clock. I really didn’t have set schedule that I followed, other than what the calendar might say, the every now and then doc appointment, a field trip, and of course the hours I had to go into work, but other than that, I pretty much followed this internal clock of mine and it worked out just great!
My homework was done on time and in neat fashion, I was always about 10 minutes early for class, spent loads of time with family and friends, and had tons of time for all the art I did…then you toss in a baby…..
*watches as the internal clock shatters off a cliff*
Pretty much the sentence above. It was gone. Completely. My wonderful clock has gone for good, I believe. Our little precious one came into our lives and my clocks went haywire. I was sleeping in spells, feeding her at odd times, not feeding her enough, and feeding her too much. It was all crazy! Now this was at the hospital so it could have been from drugs, and of course the nurses would never let the baby go hungry if I was asleep when she was fussing. However, even on the way home, I still lost my clock. MY PRECIOUS CLOCK! (but so worth giving up for our new little precious one!)
So luckily came the invention of the timer!!! I mean this thing really works! Its my accessory! I carry it around like I do my phone! I cling to it, like air almost. This timer has saved my insanity and sanity, and the tummy of our baby girl! I mean this cheap calculator looking timer, is such a blessing!
Since I have to feed our little girl every 3 hours 24/7 for the next couple of weeks, I needed something to keep track of these 3 hour periods. Right now my timer is doing his job…I think I will name him Pete! Pete the timer! So now Pete keeps me on track! Every 3 hours, my daughter is fed! During the rest of the time of those three hours after she eats, Pete faithfully keeps track of the time I have left to clean, tend to myself, and of course nap! I can shower! It’s a miracle!!! And my baby has a clean momi and a full belly and lots of sleep herself!
So that is pretty much it. Pete. Good new Pete, has become my best friend!
Anywhoalls. Talk to you all next time

Reposting a post from the 12th!

Apparetnly blog took this post done from yesterday, So I am putting it back up! BWAHAHAHA

Okidokie. So far as you may know, I like organic stuff. Not just food, but for others things as well. Especially things that are going to be used on me, or any of my family, and of course for little Strawberry DQ. Babies are so sensitive! Everything about them, makes the react, especially our Strawberry DQ, who has well…Anything that touches her makes her ready to scream! Unless you one of her men! Oh yes, she is very high maintenance! Only daddy, grandpas, and uncles can hold her and makes her perfectly happy! Maybe not all the time, but she sure does love her daddy, grandpas and uncles.
Anywhoalls!
While shopping at in the baby section at Target, I was on the search for baby lotions, shampoos, and soap, pretty much anything that is going to be lathered on our little guy.
First thing on my list is to make sure it was organic or as close to it as possible. The reason for this, is like most, I don’t want a lot of cancer causing chemicals on the skin of our newborn! No parabens! No heavy perfumes, because they can contain petroleum products which block the absorption of water.
In all reality, babies are little and may need lots of attention, like some little one I am learning about; however, when it comes to bathing, babies really don’t need much. Now, I am no expert here! In no way did I spend a life time studying and became a doctor for this. This is just knowledge I know and looked into, while I was pregnant. So if I have something wrong, please tell me, if I sound stupid, just enjoy a good laugh at a new wify and momi learning how to handle her family.
Anyway, from what I have learned, babies really don’t need much for bathing. Really all they need water and a good baby sensitive soap. However, when you go into Target, you are not only greeted with just soap, you are greeted with 50 brands of one kind of shampoo, 50 brands of body soap, then body shampoo. Some shampoos have conditioners to go with them and other have a soap that goes with the soap. And then bath soap, tearfree shampoo, soap for new borns, and shampoo for toddlers! The isle is endless and the verity drives ya insane! Because you only turn around to see on the other side, the butt creams, the lotions, the creams for feet, the lotions for body, the lotions for the baby’s booty and all of those each of 50 brands of its own….okay breathe…*breathe*’
And you know what was the first thing that runs through my paranoid brain? How many of those have chemicals that could cause my baby to get cancer? Which one is going to give her a rash? Does she have sensitive skin as me? (I have very sensitive skin. I broke out to medical tape when in the labor at the hospital. *embarrassed look*) with each of those 50 brands, came 50 questions.
In the end, after much time and debate, I settled for a few selected brands of some organic and some not so organic and some that I just had to try before I judged. For a lotion I chose the common natural Bert’s Bee Baby Bee brand of Calming Lotion. I have only been using it for a few days I have had Strawberry DQ, but let me tell ya. I love it! It very soothing lotion that is very soft for baby skin and you don’t need to use a lot at all.
When I brought Strawberry DQ home, she started developing a rash on her poor booty. Now, as new momi, I didn’t think to grab my sample of the stuff called “Butt Paste” to try it out to see if it worked. I grabbed my lotion lathered a just little a bit on. And surprise! Her rash was almost gone before it began! The stuff also does as it says, “Calming.” Not just for baby, but mostly for me. As I mentioned above, I got a rash from the medical tape from the hospital, and so far this stuff as really soothed it and of course, being a new momi my paranoia and hormones have sky rocketed from here to heaven and beyond, and so this lotion really has driven me a down a few notches.
So from a dysfunctional wife, momi and artist, I really recommend this stuff!
Another thing I bought, but have yet to try, is the baby shampoo I got. California Baby Super Sensitive Shampoo and Body Wash! Just from my research, California Baby is great organic brand for babies. Expensive, for my 8.5 bottle, but I thought it was worth a try. $12 something dollars is expensive for me! So it better work! However, I don’t need to use a lot from what the bottle tells me and if it works well it keeps those parabens and cancer causing chemicals off my baby!
I posted a link to California Baby website. They have a lot of other stuff and the offer deals for bulk purchases if you like the stuff or tried it and can only find out in overpriced small bottles at Target or Babies r Us. If it works then great, I will post how great it is and how well it works; if it doesn’t…well I have a really expensive bottle of body wash to use on myself, so I should feel pampered! Or bamboozled that I spent that much!
Anyway, I do have a couple more things, but I can already see that my post got really long! So I hope you enjoy, check out my “awesome” lotion and shampoo/bodywash.

Organic Shampoo and Lotion...and the trouble!

Mother's Daya Surprise! BABY?!!

Well ain’t this just crazy! Here I had all these plans to spend the last few weeks telling how I was getting ready for the baby in belly on his or her way. I had plans for pictures, tutorials. I had even planned to post some videos about what I was making or had made for the baby and give instructions so that way you all can be inspired to try, but just as you would have it, all these plans have to be tossed out the door or at least modified greatly. Why? Well Baby came early! Baby decided to make her grand entrance on MOTHER”S DAY!
Isn’t God great? Such a wonderful gift!
Our Little Strawberry DQ (Drama Queen), came into the world at 10:33 at night! While I was pushing, I had my hubby, by my side momi hold my left numb leg (that of course would not move at all), all with the nurse telling the Imo’s Pizza guy my order. YES! I was ordering pizza while pushing. Hey! I was hungry! I had not eaten in over ten hours and used up most of my strength for labor; what girl wouldn’t need a medium size Canadian bacon, sausage, banana pepper, and onion pizza? St. Louis Style of course; with the crust super thin!
Though I know pizza is very interesting, back to baby! Strawberry DQ came in as a tiny girl! Looking just like her daddy! Blue eyes, but those could change, and baby hair, that looks red! Hehehe. So cute! And of course, she listens to the Beatles song “Yellow Submarine”, because Dirty Grandpa got her started on those song months before she was born. And she now has many pretty pink things to wear, thank you to Grandmothers’, great grandmother’s and an Uncle who just had to buy her a little red, white and blue dress. So Cute!
So now the Organic Pop-tart has another member to talk about an share her mini-baby adventures!
Until Another day for another post!

Happy Mother's Day! and Second Post!

Happy Mother’s Day!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful time, especially all those momi’s out there! I hope you all are having a wonderful time and are blessed with wonderful day.
On a chasing a rabbit side note; You may notice I spelled mommy as ‘momi’ the reason for this is a special name for my own mother, who labored years and time homeschooling and struggling with her stubborn daughter (NOT ME! Okay…maybe me….) who refused to spell correctly, even though she could! So now as a college graduate, young momi (baby still in belly) I gave my mother this special name to remind her all the hard work she put into my spelling. U is did u good Momi! I is ejimicated and cans speels beter than I cud evr b4 ! Thancs u’s Momi!
Love ya Momi :D
Oh! Below, above, beside, I have no idea where they will end up, are pictures of Mother’s Day cards I made yesterday to give out to my all my momis and grandmomis.
I still need to make one or two more, but these are the four I made earlier, with some scraps paper and paper from the DCWV Card stock pack called “The Rustic Stack” just in case if anyone is interested in these certain colors and patterns. Very pretty, rustic and feminine, I really liked the colors of antiqued pink, orange and yellow. The ribbon was from pretty much scrap and cheap spools I get from Hobby Lobby whenever it goes on super good sale or clearance.
No pattern followed in making the cards. Just sorta glued and stuck stuff were it looked nice. My favorite ones are the two with butterfly punch out.
Anywhoalls! Just a quick post and update! Probably going to see family today and run by wishing all my mamas happy mother’s day then sending Hubby off to work! I still need to make him nachos for dinner, which I had promised the other night, but the day gotta away from me, so got to make sure to an extra good batch of nachos for him tonight! (Organic Pop-Tarts aren’t enough right now)
Have a Happy Mother’s Day and have a very blessed day!

The Organic Poptart and first post!

Some of you may wonder why this strange title, Organic Pop-tart. It’s an odd name, but it has a nice ring to it, but at the same time sounds kinda funny. Organic, which we all know is food grown or made without all the added chemicals, and Pop-tarts…well those are pretty much the sweet sugar filled treat that is the complete opposite! Put those two together and you have the Organic Pop-Tart, which is the perfect phrase to describe my life.
My life is like an organic pop-tart. My marriage with my most wonderful husband is an organic pop-tart. Almost every aspect of my life is an organic pop-tart.
I came up with it, when I remembered the compromise me and hubby made. He loved pop-tarts! I mean loved them! The sweeter the better! And if its ice-cream flavored you freeze them to eat cold! I on the other hand, was flabbergasted! Pop-tarts!?! You mean those sugar, chemical filled dried bread thing with a filling made from who knows what!?! Okay maybe I wasn’t that surprised, I had pop-tarts before, but never regularly. I would say, I probably ate pop-tart maybe one a year, perhaps two. They never really tickled my fancy. And when I learned about all the bad stuff that went into them, that number was nearly gone. Anywhosalls! I, by now went I had met and married Brian, had pretty much assessed what foods I could eat, and what I couldn’t eat and what I had only dreamed of eating. And Pop-tarts were way down on the list, I had totally forgotten about them. How could I give the man I love a pop-tart when it my head I was giving him a dose of cancer causing cells, no matter how tasty and sugar filled they were! After much debate over if I should ever buy him pop-tarts, we settled for organic pop-tarts! Still unhealthy sweet treat you can have for breakfast or a snack, but not filled with a tons of extra chemicals that cause cancer.
Yes, I am married. Not just too any man, the perfect man God set up for me. Though my hubby is far from perfect, far from being prince charming, but he is perfect for me. Bunny, as I call him, is sweet, generous, sometimes eccentric…(okay maybe a lot more than I like to admit) and over all a pop-tart. Filled with sugary sweetness, generous with sugar and calories and comes in many flavors.
So overall, chasing another rabit, this blog is for my everyday as well as my random thoughts of the day or week or whenever I have time. Forgive me if its not all set up or takes time to get it looking nice, it will come as I go along. I hope you enjoy it and have a few laughs watching and reading the life of dysfunctional artist, momi and wify!
