Day after Valentine's Day

My little Girl caught eating banana!
Dead roses soon to be in my attempt to make perfume!
Chocolate and roses hubby man got me at half price or on sale with coupons! The car though was full price but was exactly what my hubby would say and he put his whole heart into it! :)

So it’s the day after Valentine’s Day and of course you will probably find me at Target or Walmart looking at the Valentine 50% off sales. Nothing is better than getting gourmet chocolate half off or having the ability to fill your house with leftover flowers and roses!
However what really irks me are the days before February 14 when all the articles and lists, and complaints come in. One yahoo article that really got on my nerves was, I think it said “6 things that are too clichés to do for Valentine’s Day”. Like buying the same dozen roses for your special someone, was overdone and you need to do better.  Excuse me, but I think a dozen roses are just as lovely as the next, and are just pretty as any other bouquet of flowers. The end result is the same; the flowers are pretty for awhile before they die. (And if you are like me, you dry them or get really wild and try to make rose perfume and fail constantly at it, but it try again anyways.)
The whole point of the article was that the sweet card, pretty roses, and chocolate, etc was not enough anymore. To prove your love you need buy your girlfriend a date to someplaces he has never been and give her diamond bracelet in a box of $300 chocolates after you pick up her and present her with bouquet bigger than the size of her head! And maybe for your husbands, my homemade meal and quiet nice afternoon is not enough. I need to toss in the latest ipod with his favorite tunes to demonstrate my undying devotion to him.
And don’t get me started and what the world has come up for kids on Valentine’s Day. It like an excuse to have a second birthday in the year; like Easter and Christmas are not sufficient! Valentine’s Day is not even a true national holiday. The banks don’t close and the mail is still delivered. Valentine’s Day is just another excuse for people to demand more presents and spend more money. L
*breath* Okay, I think I might be done with my rant….Nothing is wrong with getting your loved one a present or taking them out on date for Valentine’s Day. (Beware though of the crowded restaurant!) Really the point of Valentine’s day should be just a day set aside for people to have chance to show some love and appreciation to other when they have busy schedule.(Which can you can do on any other day of the year as well!) not a rat race to see who can get the biggest and most expensive presents on the planet! I don’t need a bottle of perfume made from the spices from the deepest parts of the Amazon, and churned by Persian Nuns! It would probably smell like goat anyways.
Anywhoalls here are the verses from ESV Bible, to show what love should be and not our twisted version of pink and red frills with diamond on top.
1 Corinthians 13:4-12
4Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;b 6it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.8Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.13So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Anywhoalls! Enjoy your days after Valentine’s Day. Go out and enjoy your half priced dozen roses and chocolates. Be my guest and buy a goofy card for your loved one simple because you want you! Whatever your excuse may be may God bless your day!
Until another post
Toodles!
