The Gardens of the Future!

There is nothing cuter then a little baby girl all dressed up in the frills and ruffles. All done up in a petite pink dress with lace and complimenting pink ribbon. A big bow tied neatly in the back with clean white tights and matching pink shoes. One can hear all the “Aww”s and “How adorable”’s from everyone who will see her. Everyone can also see the big, gigantic, neon colored, flower plastered to her head.

Now I know this is just my personal opinion. And I am probably stirring up trouble for myself here, but I just can’t help it! You see these adorable baby girls. So tiny, so cute in their miniature clothes and then that gigantic daisy on her little noggin hits you like a neon sign. You can almost hear the baby screaming, “Who slapped this plastic overgrowth on my head!?!”

Who needs to visit the local Botanical Gardens, when your kid can be it. There is going to be a generation of girls with their ears against their necks, from the weight of these oversized blooms!

I love flowers like any other girl, but your local nursery or daycare shouldn’t look like a Sunflower Field on wheels. “Oops, sorry Sweety! Let me get that leaf out of your eye!”

School girls are going to start plucking their heads, “He loves me! He loves me not!..”

What’s next strapping giant bees to our sons’ heads?!

What happened to the little bows and barrettes and delicate miniatures our girls used to wear? Why do they have to your local florist?

Anywhoalls, I hope you all get a good laugh out of this. It was all in fun, of course.

Toodles!

Also enjoy Strawberry's new hair- do!

5 days until Christmas!!!! ACK! Gift guide/list ideas!

So I walk by, with tooth brush in my mouth. Tooth paste foaming to make me look like I have rabies and I pass by the calender. On a whim I give it casual glance, see if I missed anything important and on whim my tooth brush fall from my hand. At this moment I thought about grabbing my little girl, who still was sleeping so needed a diatee change at least, race to the car and race to Wal-mart or target and speed shop, because what I saw was there was only 5 day left until Christmas! Luckily, I was spared the embarrassment and didn't race to Target in my jammies and a sleeping baby. For all I know the news that evening could have been, "Rabbid Woman in Atrocious Pajamas attack Local Target"
So after awhile, I calmed down, counted what few gift I had. made a list of what I needed and what gift I was working on, then decided to make a list/guide/ ideas whatever you want to call for you all to help you. If you anything like me, hopefully this helps, or you can point and laugh at my tartiness.

Here is a simple list/ guide to help ya.

Grandma/ Mom/ Special Aunt/ Sister:

  • · Scarves! Not a winter scarf, one of those fashion scarves. This is really easy to find, reasonably priced and can be given to any lady in your family. They come in many designs, lengths and styles, you can find one for each lady on your list.

  • · Teacups! I know people say “gentle-use” item are big no-no at Christmas, but who set this rule? Vintage or Antique tea- cups are pretty, reasonable priced and be can filled with some tasty tea and wrapped with a pretty tea spoon to match. These can be found at antique shops or thrift stores.

  • · Gift card. I am not against gift cards at all. Just make sure they are gift cards to places they can get too. Nothing is worse than getting a gift card and the store is out of state!

Dad/ Grandpa/Uncle/ brother:

The guys are little harder. And the thing is, if any of your are like me, giving an Ipod or Ipad, the latest video game etc, etc would be great!...but I don’t have few hundred dollars laying around to be spending money like that! So I have few ideas lined up.

  • · Older video games. After a video game has been out for while the price drops from the scary $60-$100 dollars down to a reasonable $10-30. So instead of the latest gears of War or Halo game, find out if they would want the first game in the series or maybe a game they wanted to try out but never got around to it.
  • · Quirky t-shirts! “You are looking at Awesomeness” or “I do my own stunts” t-shirts are easy to find and always get a good laugh. There are plenty to choose from just funny saying to cute little picture of ninja squirrels with a saying, “Careful or I will sick my ninja squirrels on ya!”
  • · Comic books! For the nerd your life, you can stop buy a comic book store or book store and find a few comic books. Try something you never heard of so it gives them variety or something new to read!
  • · Gift cards! Always easy!

Kids/niece/nephew/ kids you babysit:

Do not get the latest toy! Why? Because someone is probably got it for them already and that is more money that you probably don’t have.

  • · For the little girl in your life! Dress up clothes! What little princess doesn’t like a pretty dress? Easy to find and very abundant during the holidays. Toss in a crown and don’t forget that feather boa!
  • · Remote control car for that little guy. They are always fun and like my little brother they go through them quickly, so to have another one is always fun.
  • · Gitft card to Toys-R-Us! I remember getting those! I loved it!

Boss/Friends/Everyone else pretty much:

  • · Journals. Your friend may not journal, but pretty books with blank pages are inspiring to start writing something. They are also handy to have on hand to jot down notes…Or late minutes Christmas lists, because you forgot! :P
  • · Classic Books. Jane Austin Novels, War and Peace, Edger Allen Poe, are classics and great in any library or to start a personal library.
  • · Cozy blankets! Those really soft ones! You can find one reasonably priced, pretty patterns and colors, and even find some that come with sleeves!
  • · Quirky mugs. Everyone has mugs, but they can get a chuckle if you get them a funny one. Here's is an idea. By a white mug and draw a smile face on it and there ya go! :P
  • · Gifts cards!

I hope this guide/list gives you a few ideas. You can go out and just buy a lot of gift cards, but this gives a little personal touch and shows you at least spent time into their gifts.

My thought on Classic Disnet films :)

There is something about a Disney film that just brings a smile to my face, a giggle from daughter,( which leads to more drool on my shirt! No worries I have my scarf!)
You just can't beat a good Disney film. Not really those new ones. Not that they aren't good, but I am talking about one of those classic films, like The Lion King or Cinderella! I mean how many times do you break out into song with the movie, "Sleeping Beauty" when she sings, "I know you" or Aladdin with "A Whole New world" ?
The music is classic and catchy. Romantic when needed be with suspense that has you yelling"WILL YOU KISS THE PRINCESS ALREADY!?!?!"
And I mean who wouldn't want to have a fairy godmother or have the ability to see the colors of the wind? ( not sure how you can do that, but Pocahontas figured it out!)
There is nothing like sitting cozy in your blanket introducing your baby girl to the classic Disney films you grew up with. Warm and snuggly in your spew covered shirt and greasy hair, because you haven't had time for shower since you can remember, enjoying a classic Disney movie!
Anywhoalls, until another day

Christmas Attack! and just and update of my life

Another day! Another post! With holiday season around I get really busy. Usually not because I have too, simply because I am am crazy. My season starts out with waking up at the crack of..this year midnight and race to the shops. (Yes, I was crazy enough to tackle Black Friday) Between two hour of sleep, waiting in lines, tossing a Starbucks protein shake thingy,(which went to my stomach. I can feel the pounds packing on!) I managed to get most of my Christmas shopping done. HOWEVER! Does this stop me from shopping? Nope! So random trips to the store are always in the mix. Then of course now that I am mother, I need the perfect Christmas card to send with a picture of my baby girl!
This task is not easy! I couldn't put her in a Disney Princess Christmas Card well I am just not that into Princesses during Christmas. So I spend hour at not just Walmart and Walgreens, but also on the Internet looking for a perfect card frame for my picture of my little darling. (I am typing this up right after she decided to spew all over my shirt.) After all that time wasted, I had the big idea to make my own! I am an artist after all!...*cough* 3 days later I had my card design done, and 5 days more I had them printed out.
And does it stop there? Of course not! That would be crazy! I have to spend hours searching for boxes to put gifts in and wrapping them neatly then coordinating ribbon to make bows. And of course I have to top it off with a perfect homemade tag! And then the cookies!
I have not even started them yet. I plan on making just a few batches, you know for people like the trashman, mail lady, a few for me ( straight to me stomach again!) Maybe a batch for my mom, well hey lets toss in another batch because I have extra ingredients! But wait! look I have chocolate! Let go back to the store to purchase more stuff to make this other kind of cookie, then turn around and find I need 2 more Christmas cards printed to send, might as well swing by Walmart to get those printed! So once more I will be packing up my kid in a purple puff coat she hates, throw my green scarf over my spew covered shirt and off I go!
Over all, even though my Hubby man is not here, I am still blessed by my Lord to have a wonderful Christmas season so far. Keep Praying for my Hubby Man! So far so good!
Until another day!

A green multipurpose scarf!

So okidokie,I have pretty interesting blog post I think. Have you ever found yourself in the middle of a public, let’s say a mall, your baby spews all over your shirt! No worries, you’re a good mom! You always carry a spare shirt! Just slip quietly into the bathroom and you change and you can be on your merry way…wait…the shirt you are wearing IS your spare shirt. Now you’re stuck! You race to the bathroom carrying your little bundle of spew and drool. And while you’re racing, baby drools more which somehow ends up all over your sleeves. Once you are before the mirror you assess the damage and realize…the damage I too great. You look like you were a in food fight from one of the movies. No matter how much scrubbing you do you can’t clean off enough to be presentable. What are you to do? Presenting the awesomeness of the scarf! No, not just those pretty decorative ones or those crocheted ones, I am talking about those nice big ones that can go from scarf to a wrap. Mine is green, and I never leave the house without it. This scarf will save your life!. Scrub the shirt off from drool and spew, wrap your scarf around your neck and there ya go! Spew and drool marks covered and you can keep shopping.

The scarf also does many other things! Not only is it a fashionable accessory and cover up baby drool, it works great to cover up the baby when she gets a chill, because its big enough for a blanket! And if you are at all like me, I forgot a coat or hoodie, so what do you do? Wrap your arms up in your scarf and race to the car!

But my most favorite is when baby is hungry and there are people everywhere and well…your nursing tent is in the car…( Do this more often than I care to count!) No worries though! Your big scarf does the perfect job!

I would suggest getting the scarf in like black or brown, since it matches everything, but mine is green!

Hopefully by my…”artistic” pictures you can tell what kind of scarf I am talking about. It those scarves that are thick enough for warmth, but thin enough you can wear them in spring and not look too goofy!

You can find them at Target for relatively cheap! Even better wait until after Christmas when they go on sale and get them half priced!

Anywhoalls, Enjoy your scarves and enjoy the winter wheather! Until another post!
