10 ThingsI learned after pregnancy

Its been just few days after I hit my two month mark from the day I gave birth to my bundle of joy Strawberry. Yes, 2 wonderful months that so far has made me and expert in motherhood! (Ha! I wish!) However, though still a new mommy and far from knowing everything, I have learned a lot of things that I never thought of, took little consideration, and stuff that I pretty much ignored cause I thought I knew better and knew it all. (Hehehe, was I so wrong and paid for it.)
So these are the top ten things I learned after pregnancy.

1.) My baby getting a shot is so much worse than my own labor pains! Its so sad and and true! There I was holding my sleeping baby girl, cuddled warmly against me in a diaper waiting for the doctor. Totally unaware of the pain to come and it my fault!!! It may be for her good, but it still feel horrible to watch them cry like that.

2.) Life is really a musical for a baby. Who knows how many times I break out in song singing about changing her diaper, getting clean, puking on momi, and napping with daddy. "Getting our diaty changed, Yes we are." Is so far her favorite cause she smiles whil I change a diaper...or it could be she is smiling to avoid me singing something worse!

3.) Bananas have become my best friend. I eat them, I buy them, I make banana bread, muffins and pudding, and I pretty much can't live without them. I am not sure why, its just so.

4.) Baby coos are better than any orchestra or master musician. I mean seriously, how can Yo-Yo-Ma match her little squeaks! Beethoven can not her little voice no matter what people tell me! My little girl and future babies to come sound way cuter and masterful than a whole symphony!

5.) I watch and keep track of diapers more than I do the bills. Oh yes, this one never seem to go away. Just the other day I had the doctor laughing at me because I was worried about her diapers and when I get home I am greeted with a mailbox with a letter telling me late on a bill, which I paid, but just send payment late! *sigh* Do you ever get your brain back after babies?Maybe that is why I am choosing to home school.

6.) After birth I learned, my husband lost like ten pounds and I had about 20 to lose!!! ARGH!!! Is that fair? I mean sure the weight gain was so worth the baby, but seriously!?! Who gave the man permission to lose weight while I look like melon!?!?!

7.)Nesting doesn't stop or doesn't get done and . Sadly, I thought it would, because I would get back to normal with a baby in the routine. No, dishes are never clean enough to use or never get done. Laundry has to be done exactly right or is left to be a mountain and food either is 5 star worth or nothing! I think I still might have hormones...

8.) Naps are worth so much more than gold!!! I liked and took naps before I got pregnant, before I even met my husband, but it wasn't until after the baby I realized their value! Believe me my friend, cherish your few naps!

9.) Its is totally okidokie to take my child to the zoo! I know I know, she may not know the difference between a bear pit and her own backyard, but it makes me happy and the zoo if free.

10.) My phone is my life line!! With it little built in calender and address book it pretty much runs mu social life at this point. And through the magic voices of the outside world, called friends and family, I am kept up to date! Also has an alarm built into it to wake up and and go off when I need to be somewhere! By then though I should already be out the door and on my way someplace, but hey at least I am trying!

So anywhoalls, I learned a lot more than just these ten things, but these where the ones that stood out the most. Crazy but this my life so far! Love you all!

God bless!

Flowers for yourself

There is nothing better than a day out with my little Strawberry and my good friend. Maybe if it wasn't a bajillion degrees outside it would have been better, but you take what you can get when its summer in here. As our day came to an end, we were in wal-mart, (okay so the day was long gone! It was actually like 1 in morning, but just pretend you see my day ending with a wonderful sunset and cup of tea or something. And wal-mart is not all that romantic, but it a great.)Anywhoalls, our day was coming to an end and we walked by the flower stand as wal-mart and I manged to talk my friend into buying a bouquet of I-think-are-daisy's- but-look-close-enough flowers for herself.

This is a strange habit I having doing, buying myself flowers and telling my friends to buy themselves flowers. No, I am not some sick-romantic (yes, I am) that I am so deprived of flowers that I need to buy them. I just enjoy the fresh scent and look of flowers in my home. For some reason, in my eyes, it just makes things come alive in away. You have a boring old coffee table, bam! A vase and lilies later, that table is gorgeous. An empty window sill? No problem a small old jar and a few dandelions later you have a pretty thing to look as as the sun rays dance in the water of the jar. Can you tell ya I have done that before?

Flowers just make somethings or anything special. Just one of those small things that bring a little joy and a smile to my face an my family when I bring home a small $5 bouquet from wal-mart or maybe a rose I thought of saving from the those stinky gas stations. Or force even forcing my hubby to pull over cause I can't help but pull out my scissors or a pocket knife and start cutting away and making myself of bouquet from those wild flowers on the side of highway. (Those poor people in their cars must think I am crazy)
Anywhoalls, go and enjoy the summer blooms and bring yourself home a flower to enjoy

Oh yes and the pictures are of some of the flowers my friend shared with me and some from my Black Hair Papaw house. ( Yes, I really do call my grandpa, Black Hair Papaw.)

That place on my bed

That place on my bed

Only one picture today. But this picture shows you were I live for many hours out of my day. Yep right there on my bed with a baby, a book, my Bible and my laptop. (My cellphone usually somewhere, but often always out of my reach or lost somewhere.)

Now in no way am I there from dawn until dusk, laying away enjoying life with sweet tea rigt in my reach, while I enjoy time wasted and cuddling with baby. Now that is my spot where I am on the computer doing the check-book*sigh* nursing the baby, doing a much needed Bible study, comforting crying baby, talking to my mother online so I can stay sane, feeding baby lunch, trying to catch up on some much needed sleep and turing around to feed baby again. And between these feedings talking attempting naps, I am running around my tiny apartment in an attempt to get dishes done, sweep my floors for the hundredth time that day, one more picking up my husband’s laundry, back to feeding the baby, attempting to get my todo list. Then getting baby ready to go, then only to realize hubby has the car…I can only lay baby back down, crawl up next to her and pass out for two seconds before she needs another diaper change before she is hungery again. *sigh*

But wouldn’t trade any of it away. :D

Fritos and Bananas

The goofy things you learn about babies, parenting and life when it all happens at once. We weren’t even married one full year when we found out I was pregnant with our precious Strawberry. I wasn’t even in 21 yet. And when she came, we had just passed our one year of marriage mark. Goodness our adventure so far has been crazy and we learned so many things, from crazy things, things I should have known but didn’t pay attention, things that I was never told, and even unfathomable things. This kinda stuff you only learn with experience, (which I have very little. My bundle of joy is not even two months!) It didn’t matter how many books read, prayers, articles I skimmed, more prayers, advice I took, prayers I prayed, advice I listened too, prayed again, but for some reason nobody writes about this stuff. REallyI think there should a be a book for every individual baby born. When our baby comes, we simply rent the book and all the advise and steps are right there to take care of him. (Yeah right! Only in my dreams!) Nothing actually made me prepared, until God threw right into it.

One of things I knew, but wish I actually listened too, was to actually sleep when baby sleeps. (I know. Crazy! I swear I am the opposite of everyone else.) While every other new mommy I know jumped at every chance to sleep, I jumped at the chance to do everything but sleep. Usually this ended with half mental case, self-sleep deprived lunatic, talking to the baby about beads and why Leonardo da Vinci was a genius, while poor hubby went without dinner again.

I have no idea how my hubby did survived the first few weeks. I am not sure what I ate, but from what I am told, Hubby survived on Fritos and bananas. *look of embarrassment* *another mother and wife of the year award for my wall*

One thing I wish was taken out of my head was the idea that I was superwoman! Oh yes, I can be super woman! I am super woman! I can have dinner cooking by lunch time, lunch already for hubby to eat, my homework for college done, and helping hubby with his while he eats, while at the same time putting away laundry and sweeping my constantly dirty tile floors. Toss in the baby, *laugh.* HA! I now loathe the superwoman idea. Goodness, the drive to do everything kept nagging at me! I couldn’t stop! It wouldn’t stop. I would get everything done and have nothing done at all! And I would do all again in over and over! Trying to keep up with hubby house home and baby all at one time! *breathe* Then someone told me…its okay that the floors go upswept for a week, and hubby was okay with not eating 3 course dinner every night. He could make do with Fritos and bananas for the first few days. And baby doesn’t hate you because you are giving her a bath. What I really needed to concentrate on was taking care of what really needed to done. Baby needed to be fed and cared for on time, make sure hubby has plenty to eat even if it not super tasty, at least have made bed to come home too and its totally fine to wash only the necessity clothes on laundry day. You’ll tackle that mountain piling high later.

Somewhere after Strawberry reached her month mark things got a lot easier. Laundry wasn’t as high as before and I think I can start seeing my floor again! A miracle!

Now this is just a taste, of goes on here at my tiny apartment. There is so much more that happens, its scary. Sometimes I wish that perfect big house, each room decorated to my style and taste. Huge lawn waiting for when my kiddos get older to play in. Heck, if it was my way, I would already have my homeschool year plan planned out for each one of my children…but alas, I am not this wonder woman of glory. Instead, I live in my small apartment, where baby sleep in our bed, I craft at my kitchen table as well as blog. Only a few days ago I remembered to give a friend her wedding gift that I suppose to give back in April and return dishes from sweet families who gave use meals that I was suppose to return back in May!*sigh* I am so glad my Lord is so patient and merciful.

Anywhoalls. Until next time!

Ducks and boat load of randomness

This is just a post so I can ...well... post?
Not often to I not have nothing to post. Actually, I have plenty to post!. There is always something to post, even when there is nothing to post or blog about. You can blog about nothing!...Which is actually what I am doing now.
Anywhoalls, this post is really about specific randomness. Randomness that fills my dysfunctional fun filled life and only makes my life that tad bit more interesting.
It starts with little thing such a my ducky counsel that sits on the little shelf on my easel. Yes, those a bunch of tiny, different, colored rubber ducks I have collected. I guess these ducks would fall under my list of ''pretty' things I have. (Pretty things, my excuse for junk.)
More things that sit around my house doing nothing for no reason are the coke-cola tin boxes that are stuck to wall. They don't do anything. They don't hold anything. They are really just stuck to my wall to look pretty. Unlike my coca-cola crate that holds a lot of stuff on top of my fridge, like food! (That is all it holds is food. LOL.)
In all reality, my family would not be at interesting and awesome, if it wasn't full of all this randomness and weirdness. Hubby would never be the same if he wasn't so excited every year when free comic day came around to get that one tini free action figure to add to his collection or clap his hands and squeak when he heard his favorite super hero Green Lantern was getting his own live action movie! (Yippie! Woohoo! Gotta sounds excited, ya know.)
Or for our little girl who has a trunk for her toys. Literally she has a tree trunk shaped trunk that hold all her rattles and stuffed animals. ( I'll tell ya more about that trunk later.I made it from fabric and round foot stool. Its really cool actually

Anywhoalls,

HEre is randomness from my house.

Snoopy Camera and Pictures

Snoopy Camera:

In the bottom of abyss of a purse or found in the depths of my bed sheet (odd I know) or floating around my place, is a pink metal box shape, with a cracked screen and rubbed out buttons. Oh yes, this is the wonderful camera that I use to take all my pictures. This is the camera that has captured it all in the last…3-4 years I think? Before this one a purple camera, which was still my favorite, but sadly it died from…a cracked screen…But the pink one you still see the pictures on that cracked screen!
This camera captures everything from my life like the zombie fairy make-up pictures with me and my bridesmaids, the random banana pictures in my previous post, tons and tons of pictures of my little one, a couple of my hubby, (those I have to tackle and fight for) and just about anything under the sun, including the sun itself. Nothing beats a good a old camera.
Though I wish I had a better one to take a better quality of picture, however you can’t beat the pink snoopy camera that survives my abyss of a purse or being lost in my unmade bed for a week (no wonder my husband couldn’t sleep right…*cheesy grin*) or just floats around everywhere from here to Mars.
A camera sort of becomes a good friend to you when you are a new stay- at- home mama. I mean of course, the 1 month old baby girl is a wonderful listener and the lady bugs in the window sills ever enjoy my company, but sometimes you need that good old snoopy camera to just a hold some kinda of picture mental conversation, because a camera listens then replies back with a picture!
The reason why I call it my “snoopy camera” cause I always seem to have it at the wrong moments or when something happens I get a picture of it than a month later going through my photos I will have this “When did I take that?” moment, because I found a picture of charred what-I-think-was-once-hotdogs in my red microwave! So my pink snoopy camera has a tendency to snoop around and take pictures when I am not around. Which is fine by me, it could be doing something else, but if that is how camera spends it time, fine by me. :)

Anywhoalls, until next time…*dramatic theme music* on the ORGANIC POP-TART!!!! *heroic music fades out*

My excuse for junk! Pretty things!

Pretty things.

There is just something about pretty things. They fill your homes, pop in and out of your life, and they somehow complete things; put that final touch to make something pretty to beautiful. I love what pretty thing do. (You will find I will use the word ‘pretty’a lot in this post.)
Now pretty thing sounds like a broad term, but I meaning more of a smaller concept. *oh know here she goes a long explanation again* Pretty things to me are thing that hold a small special value to you. the complete something, like a pretty thing could be a strand of pearls in your jewelry dish, or an old photo album on your coffee table, a goofy mug sitting forever in the corner of your house collecting your pennies, or for some people, it is that junk car in the driveway that is your ‘want-to-fix-it-but-never-get-to-it-project.’

These pretty things fill in the spaces and make thing well…pretty. (Pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty, can I say it anymore?!)

I was just talking about this, cause I was noticing the pretty thing that help make up my apartment. Like the card I received from a dear friend, sitting on top of red microwave. Even though I could have it in some pretty photo album, or stashed away in a nice keepsake box, I keep it there cause I like to read from time over again.
Another pretty thing is the candy bowl by the toaster on my dining table. (Yes, my place is small so toaster goes on table!) It a coca-cola bowl that matches two others like it, but this one is the smallest and sits on my table full of odd candies for my hubby to eat. Drives me insane how much candy he eats, but that bowl is like his own ‘pretty’ (there’s that word!) that shows he has something that he likes and cherishes catered to him.

More pretty things fill my home from my grandmother’s purple crocheted blanket on my partial made bed to the my favorite wooden spoon that I hardly use, but only for those perfect-just-right-dishes, which come only like*thinks a moment* in a purple paisley moon. These things all hold a special meaning in our house, which is why we act sorta funny around them.

My collection of pretty things ( if I say pretty enough you all will be saying it! BWAHAHAHAHA!!) just doesn’t stop there. It expands to my daughter’s window sill, with a butterfly music box and two artistic green vases. There is an old chime hanging on my front porch that used to my grandmother’s along with a transformer head shaped cup sitting on my movie shelf! (this hold no importance to me, other than my husband loves it.) And there is a stack of prĂȘt- uh I mean ‘nice’ paper scraps I have in a box that float around the apartment….
Okay, maybe some of this is just an excuse to keep junk around, but hey it my home.

Anywhoalls. Just a short PRETTY post today! Got some pictures up too!

Toodles!

And a random picture of baby!
